SAN DIEGO — MTV News returned to San Diego Comic-Con this year, and thanks to the magic of the Internet, we've brought you along for all the festivities. We caught up with Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner from "Breaking Dawn - Part 1," and several of their castmates — Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed, Elizabeth Reaser and Julia Jones — came by to talk to us live.
"The great thing about Comic-Con is that it never feels like work," Lautner told us. "We come down to San Diego, we hang out together, we go in a room with 7,000 fans, it's fun. It's our way of thanking the fans. It's amazing that they still camp out and have that same amount of passion that they always have."
We invited you to send questions via Twitter to @MTVNews with the hashtag #mtvsdcc, and we were very happy to provide some answers. Our live stream was full of "Twilight" revelations, pontifications and ruminations from the cast and director Bill Condon (as well as some expert "Twilight Saga" fans) about the first part of the saga's epic conclusion, which doesn't hit theaters until November 18.
Your Twitter questions ran the gamut from specific story questions to wondering whether the stars have Googled themselves and which of them have watched "The Vampire Diaries" and "True Blood." But mostly everyone wanted to know what it felt like for the cast to wrap up the cinematic adaptation of the popular romantic/supernatural novels that kicked off the current vampires-and-werewolves craze.
"I think the most surreal experience was getting married [in the movie]," Stewart told us of the "Breaking Dawn" filming process, pointing out that the entire cast was anxious to see how it would all go down. "It had a feeling — I don't want to say it felt like a real wedding, [but] it definitely felt like a ceremony."
"For me, personally, the last day, when we wrapped, I didn't believe it," Jones told us during the live stream. "I hadn't even thought that was possible. I just stood there like a zombie. People started hugging me. 'You're wrapped! You're wrapped!' I was in a little bit in a daze."
"I think I'm going to miss the community," she added. "I realize how valuable it is that there's this big group of us and we keep meeting up all over the place and going on this ride together."
Reaser told us she wrapped "at the exact same moment" as her "show husband," Peter Facinelli. "We were crying a lot. We were just completely shocked and hugging. We went out and we had a little meal together. It was surreal. But it was nice that I got to have a moment with Peter."
Reed was also focused on the different character pairings in the film. "I was really nervous about the relationship between Rosalie and Bella," she said during our live stream. "It is a very special dynamic, and I wanted to make sure the transition happened naturally and organically. I wanted to make sure my head was in the right place. I'm a nervous wreck about all of these movies."
"I've been waiting to film 'Breaking Dawn.' It's juicy," Lutz said. "It's a way larger production. We shot some really epic scenes that took multiple, multiple days."
"Twilight" isn't the only major franchise at San Diego Comic-Con, of course. We'll launch another live stream at 6 p.m. ET/ 3 p.m. PT on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, we'll have appearances from Justin Timberlake and Lautner (this time promoting "Abduction") and exclusives from "Cowboys & Aliens" and "Thundercats."
